animal print and tartan trends for an Autumn transition

As hard as it seems to even imagine Autumn and Winter clothing when there is a tropical heat wave going on outside. But, as sad as it sounds, Autumn is approaching in the eyes of fashion, as nearly all highstreet shops have been adding new collections into their stores, it's time to accept the truth and It's always better to be over prepared than under, right? Below I've added two of my favourite Autumn and Winter trends you can slowly build into your current Summer wardrobe.

Crazy for Cheetah

One trend which seems to be going no where fast is ANIMAL PRINT, of course, its lasted 2 seasons already and prints such as leopard and cheetah are looking to last one more. Any loud prints are totally in this season, and I've found a few items which you could use to embrace the trend, subtly or all out...
Dress and Blouse - Never Fully Dressed & Earrings - Zara

Whenever I think animal print, I always think of a brand called Never Fully Dressed, the company embrace all things print, and the pieces can really be transitional, perfect for the SS to AW switch! The wrap detail silky blouse in the pic to the right is a perfect piece for Autumn, and easily layered, much like their dresses and skirt which could be paired with an oversized knit for colder days. Thus mixing the layering trend with untraditional animal print colours. I also added the cutest pair of earrings from Zara, which is a safer way to embrace the animal look.

Clueless about Tartan

Would it even be autumn/winter without a bit of tartan? Whether you love it or hate it, everyones inner 90's Cher will be going crazy for this twist of the scottish classic. If that didn't make any sense, this season, tartan is back, but twisted with electric colours, embracing the 1995 film, Clueless, mixed with a geek chic vibe.
Blazer and Skirt set & yellow Skirt - Topshop

After seeing this trend on a few fashion pages, I wasn't 100% convinced, however out shopping with a friend this week and seeing the bright tartan throughout the highstreet, I AM LOVING IT #CherForPrimeMinister. Topshop and ASOS are the big retailers embracing the trend according to AW18/19 predictions on WGSN.  You could style a tartan skirt for summer with a graphic or logo tee and a turtle neck jumper for winter, like Rachel in friends when she loses Marcel (if you know you know). However, if tartan isn't your thing, then gals, get that blazer back out of the wardrobe, as they are still set to be around for AW18, embracing an 80's feel to fashion.

P.S all items are links just hit the description (aka 'Blazer')

The End.
